System Overview

UNIFIG operates on the principle that that tag configuration data is obtained from a source system. This data is converted to a common XML dataset and then exported to a destination application.

Benefits of UNIFIG include:
  • Minimise tag configuration time on real-time system source-target pairs
  • Minimise tag configuration errors
  • Addition of tags to source system can be quickly replicated to target systems without labourious tag configurations

As shown in the figure above, configuration data can be obtained from any source (SCADA, OPC Server and Historian). UNIFIG interfaces natively with the required source system and converts selected tag configuration data into a general format. The data can be exported to another system which can also be a SCADA or historian.
Examples of systems that can be used for the source or the destination include:
  • Siemens SIMATIC WinCC
  • Wonderware IndustrialSQL Server
  • Wonderware InTouch®
  • OSIsoft PI
  • Adroit
  • Citect
  • IDX Historian
  • IDX OPC server and client
