Configuration Scenario|
A typical example configuration transformation scenario is shown in the figure below:
|
|
In this scenario, a site has a WinCC system that handles the main plant control. On the same plant,
there is an IndustrialSQL (InSQL) server that logs tag values from various Siemens PLCs.
| It could happen that tags are added, removed or modified on the PLCs via WinCC due to plant changes. Synchronising these data changes with other plant systems is usually done manually which can be a time consuming task. UNIFIG can automatically retrieve the current configuration setup from the WinCC configuration database and also examine the existing InSQL configuration. UNIFIG performs a comparison between the data in WinCC and the data in InSQL Server and the relevant tag data will be added or modified in the InSQL server such that the configurations match. The net result of this action is that the InSQL server will still be able to retrieve data for a tag if it has changed on the source or be able to start logging data for any new tags that have been added. | |||
