OPC Certified End User Training

This one day course provides a concise yet thorough introduction to the technology and application of OPC. It provides attendees with an understanding of the range of technologies covered by OPC, as well as practical experience of the PC, network and the domain settings that must be configured for OPC to operate successfully. 
To complete the course users must demonstrate that they understand OPC and its underlying technologies and are practically capable of setting up and troubleshooting OPC connections.
 
Target Audience
System Integrators, End Users of OPC, and Vendors of systems that offer OPC servers / clients.
 
Pre-requisites
This course is of a highly technical nature. It is intended for those installing and maintaining OPC environments. More than just computer literacy it requires an understanding of networking terminology such as IP Address, MAC Addresses, Work-groups and Domains.

Course Cost
R3500 per person. Up to 8 persons can be accommodated on a course.

Examination
The course has a 45min examination to test the knowledge that candidates have gained during the day. Candidates who pass this examination will receive a “Certified OPC User” certificate from the Competence Centre.

OPC Certified Developer Course

This two day course provides developers with all the ground work required to take the sting out of producing their own working OPC client or server. It covers all of the basics and terminology that come with OPC, the fundamentals of good interface design and common pitfalls. It also provides attendees with practical experience of implementing their own simple OPC interfaces based on the Softing OPC development toolkit. 
To complete the course users must demonstrate that they understand OPC and its underlying technologies and are practically capable of developing their own OPC interfaces based on recognised design principals.

OPC Server / Client Developers
 
Pre-requisites
This course is of a highly technical nature. It is intended solely for experienced developers seeking information on how to implement their own OPC server or client. Attendees should have a working knowledge of C++, C#, COM, DCOM and general programming concepts.
